The annual Daytona 500 Party is coming up in just 3 weeks!  As usual we'll be opening the social calendar with the Daytona 500 Party and Mike will be hosting once again.  You must be a member, but you can pay your membership dues at the party.  Check the flyer for details.

Results:

Event 6 of the 2009 WOSCA Summer Slalom Series proved a beautiful day falling in the middle of the fantastic weather we enjoyed in September.  A good turn out of over 20 competitors enjoyed 7 runs and saw the closest finish of the season with Curt B. scoring an incredible 99.98% to Marshall M's win.  Fast time went to Jeff M. is his wickedly fast Neon.  Results are posted in the results section.

The Fanshawe Charity Slalom was forecast for drizzling rain all day, but never the less 45 drivers braved the weather and were rewarded with a bit of a faster course than usual.  The first group enjoyed two dry runs before the scattered rain damped the track for group two.  FTD and the event win went to Marshall M.  Detailed results are posted in the results section.

Final Standings for the 2009 WOSCA Summer Slalom Series are now posted in the results section.  Marshall M took the series win and Curt B takes second place and the novice champion status.

Passing of a Member

It is my sad duty to report the passing of long standing WOSCA member John "Jonny V" Vriesinga.  On Dec 31st of 2008 John lost his battle with cancer at Bluewater Health Palliative Care in Sarnia.  Those that knew John from our WOSCA autoslalom events knew just how friendly a person he was and how much he will be missed.  All of our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time.  The family requests that anyone wishing to express their sympathies do so through donations to Bluewater Health Palliative Care.

New Membership Offer

Starting immediately anyone may now join WOSCA for only $20 AFTER September 1st.  This means that you have enough time now to join WOSCA and still get maximum benefit for your membership dollar.  Don't forget that the Christmas Dinner is coming up too.

Web Forums!

Well it seems that the Yahoo group is suffering from the same problems as every other mass email form I use so I've broken down and created a web-forum.  It's pretty rough, but as I figure out what I'm doing I'll clean it up and getting it running smoothly.  It does work now so go ahead and post (or at least try and register).  If you can't register email the wosca hotmail account (wosca-at-hotmail).
