Location:

Lambton College - Lot G

1457 London Road

Sarnia, Ontario

Directions: From London and points East, drive west on highway 402.  Exit Hwy 40 South and immediately exit right to London Rd (straight through the light at the end of the off ramp).  Enter Lambton College on the left just after the curve.  Proceed to lot G.

From Chatham and South, take highway 40 north towards Sarnia and the 402.  Note that there are a couple of turns in this highway watch for signs.  In Sarnia turn left onto Wellington St.  Enter Lambton College on the right.  Take the first left on the college grounds and proceed to the parking area.

From Michigan (see also alternate below), from Michigan take the appropriate highway to Port Huron and take the bridge to Canada (Blue Water Bridge).  After clearing customs proceed straight ahead to highway 402 and follow the directions from London.  NOTE, speed limits are posted in km/h and this section of the highway has reduced speeds, especially on the way home.  This is also a known place for police to go hunting because of the reduced speed limits, so be careful. Also note, if you ask an online map site for directions it will give you a different exit.  This exit might be faster but involves a combination of a second exit which might be slightly confusing.  Note the link below to a google map of the venue.

Alternate from Michigan, For a more senic route to and from Michigan you can try one of the St. Clair river ferry crossings.  Note that boats won't always be crossing exactly when you need them to be so leave extra time if you plan to take the ferry to the event (there is a registration deadline).  Here's some info curtesey of the Michigan Miata Club.

NOTES ON BOARDER CROSSING, Some FYI for our American friends.  Crossing into Canada is much easier than crossing into the US, so it will be common to have more trouble going home.

bulletWhat you have to worry about is your tires.  If you're carrying R-compounds you may be searched.  The reason for this is that putting drugs inside spare tires is a popular way to smuggle.  You may also have trouble when returning to the US with customs claiming you purchased the tires in Canada (this is a very common problem for Canadians returning home from MI).  To make this search go even quicker you can stop at the US customs before crossing and ask them to mark the tires showing they were with you when you left.  What ever you do don't cross the boarder with tires that have never been used before!
bulletAlso remember you can't take fruits, vegetables or meat across the border (either direction).  So if you're coming across the bridge don't pack a lunch!
bulletBeyond that make sure you have lots of photo ID.  If you have a passport bring it and show it to the guard even if they don't ask.  Also carrying a birth certificate is a good idea (especially if you don't have a passport).  If you don't have a passport I recommend contacting US customs and confirming with them what ID they might ask for.
