| Location: |
Hiawatha Horse Park 1730 London Line Sarnia, ON |
||||||
| Directions: | From London, drive west on highway 402.
Exit Airport Rd and head south (left from London, right from Sarnia).
Turn right (west) on London Line (traffic light). The horse track is
just over a kilometer on the right. Proceed into the lot and find the
paddock to the left of the large ramp leading to the upper entrance.
London Line is a major road and many gas and food chains can be found along
this road. From Chatham and South, take highway 40 north towards Sarnia and the 402. Note that there are a couple of turns in this highway watch for signs. Just before the 402 the highway becomes divided and you will have to take an exit for London Line. Proceed east (right) on London Line. The horse track is just over a kilometer on the left. From Michigan (see also alternate below), from Michigan take the appropriate highway to Port Huron and take the bridge to Canada (Blue Water Bridge). After clearing customs proceed straight ahead to highway 402 and follow the directions from London. NOTE, speed limits are posted in km/h and this section of the highway has reduced speeds, especially on the way home. This is also a known place for police to go hunting because of the reduced speed limits, so be careful. Also note, if you ask an online map site for directions it will give you a different exit. This exit might be faster but involves a combination of a second exit which might be slightly confusing. Note the link below to a google map of the venue. Alternate from Michigan, For a more senic route to and from Michigan you can try one of the St. Clair river ferry crossings. Note that boats won't always be crossing exactly when you need them to be so leave extra time if you plan to take the ferry to the event (there is a registration deadline). Here's some info curtesey of the Michigan Miata Club. NOTES ON BOARDER CROSSING, Some FYI for our American friends. Crossing into Canada is much easier than crossing into the US, so it will be common to have more trouble going home.
