The 2011 Summer Slalom Series

WOSCA Membership Form

 

The dates:

May 15th, June 25th, July 24th, Aug. 20th, (Sept. special event at Fanshawe) NOTE: some dates are Saturdays and some are Sundays!
The times:

Gates open at 9am, Registration starts at 10 AM and closes at 11 AM. Driver's meeting at 11:30 am. First car at 12-noon.  All competitors MUST attend the driver's meeting!  All competition ends at 5pm

The Event: Usually six competition runs followed by fun runs.  Run number is time dependant and may change.  Announcements will be made during the event.
The Rules:

The same as the Ontario region rules (here).

 

CASC-OR pax factors will be used where applicable

Note: In stock classes stock classed cars by use non-stock sized wheels with one prep-point (as per 2010 rules, This may change at future events in the series after debate in regular meeting)

 

Street Tire Bonus - Any car using tires marked with a UTG tread wear number of 140 or greater may claim street tire bonus.  This will give a 2% time bonus in the factored times used for scoring.  This is indicated on a competitors entry form by writing "-S" at the end of their class on the bottom of the entry form.  This is not applicable to the new ST classes.

 

Championship scoring for this series is planned to be best 3 of 5, events.

 

All cars must have a number clearly displayed on both sides of the car.  Shoe polish or tape is acceptable.  A list of the currently used numbers will be available at the registration table.  WOSCA members may reserve numbers.  Visit the new web forum and see the Car Numbers post in the General Discussion forum to do so.

 

To save time in the morning please feel free to download and print off the event entry form, and WOSCA membership form.  Any entrant who does not have their forms filled out will be asked to do so away from registration and return to the back of the line with their completed forms  Note that if you don't know your class then you must mention this to the registrar.  We will help you detirm the correct class for your car.  Class should be listed as specified in the 2011 CASC-OR Solo-2 rule book, available here.

 

Supplementary Regulations

 

·        Be courteous and obey the rules of the road while not competing. 

·        Any "practicing" and/or warming up of tires at or near the event site will result in disqualification from the event.

·        All competitors must attend the drivers meeting prior to the start of the event.

·        The Event and / or Series Organizers have the right to refuse entry or disqualify a competitor from competition for any reason.

·        Decisions of the organizers are final.

 

The cost: $30.00 for all competitors.  $5 Discount for WOSCA members

Directions:

From London:

Take Oxford Street West to Gideon Dr. (watch for signs Gideon Dr. is in the middle of a curve in the road).

Turn left onto Gideon drive.

The track is on your left after 5kms (just after the Oaks Golf and Country Club)

 

From Woodstock and Points East:

Take 401 West to hwy 402.

Continue on hwy 402 West to exit 86, hwy 2.  Turn left (east) at the end of the ramp

Just inside town turn left on Gideon Dr. (county rd. 3).

The track is on your right 3km down the road.

 

From Sarnia and the 402 Corridor:

Take hwy 402 East to exit 86, hwy 2.  Turn right (east) at the end of the ramp

Just inside town turn left on Gideon Dr. (county rd. 3).

The track is on your right 3km down the road.

 

From Chatham and Points West:

Take Hwy 2 (Longwoods Rd.) east to the town of Delaware

Just inside town turn left on Gideon Dr. (county rd. 3).

The track is on your right 3km down the road.

(if coming from west of Chatham take the 401 until your past Chatham then cut north to Longwoods Rd.

 

From Points North:

...frankly I'd be surprised if you find two people that agree on the best way to get there through the back roads, so use Google maps.
